Note: I have updated this game past the deadline - people reported a game-breaking bug where you are unable to move after dying, and I had accidentally set a lever's sprite as a candle

You hear whispers from behind the dungeon door. What lurks within?

Made in 7 days for the Brackey's 2024 game jam. The jam theme was, "What's behind the door?"

A souls-like game where you must save your little sister who is trapped deep within a dungeon.

We hope you enjoy playing our game!

Controls

WASD to walk

Hold left click to charge attack in direction

Space to roll

E to interact

Tips

- In general, rolling when you see the enemy sprite flash will iFrame through it

- Fully charging your attack does a lot more damage

- Use your right click attack (unlocked after the first section) to deal with large groups, and keep track of when it's up

What Lurks Walkthrough

Thanks for your video :D

Congrats on finishing another game! The sprites are excellent and go well with the tileset, the player movement and combat feels really slick and satisfying. Enjoyed reading the devlog too, I really need the healing haha. I think with that and the combat tweaks it would have a great base to build further if you want.

I'd like to use a controller with this kind of game, I know it's not exactly a priority for a gamejam but maybe that's something you can consider next time? Actually the movement seems to work already, just can't attack :)

Hey! Glad to hear from you again, I still remember your game from the Bitter Sails jam. Thanks for playing another one of my games.

I'll make sure to add controller support to my to-do list.

Excellent Game !
I got glitched when i first played, died and could not move in the beggining, now there seems to be no problem, dont know if thats usefull to you?   Looking forward to more games from you, keep up the good work!

Wow, really appreciate the video! (and sorry if my game made you mad hahahaha)

Appreciate the constructive criticism at the end too - I'll be adding some new things to the game once the jam period is over, hopefully improving the currently repetitive combat.
